[AVIATION] AMERICAN AIRLINES DC-3 PHOTOGRAPH ACCOMPANIED BY SILVERPLATE CUTLERY. This cutlery set (knife, fork and spoon) was in use from the 1930s through the 1940s American Airlines DC-3 flights; handles are in the shape of a stylized DC-3 rather than being stamped with the American Airlines logo. Each piece is stamped "Flagship". American Airlines inaugurated passenger flight service with the Douglas DC-3 in July 1936. The DC-3 was so advanced that it became symbolic of American technological leadership in aviation. - Framed, 12 in. x 16 in.
